Is Your Device Going to Work After 3G Shutdown?
The October 28, 2024 deadline marks the end of 3G networks and operations within Australia. This raises questions of whether your device would still perform functions that it was originally intended. Here’s what you need to know:
- Device Compatibility with 4G/LTE and 5G
All phones sold by Best Mobile Phone Pty Ltd are compatible with 4G/LTE networks, while those indicated to support 5g will also support 5g networks. But in case you are able to connect to a device but you are unable to connect to a network, the device may be blocked for one of the following reasons:- Your carrier network may have banned the device from connection protocols.
- Some carriers, although they may remain non-white-listed devices have limited factors of access despite being 4 VoLTE compliant and VoLTE emergency call compliant.
- Due Compatibility Information
In our desire to enhance our clients’ reliance on us, we have included compatibility details assessed against three of Australia’s major network providers:- Telstra
- Vodafone
- Optus
For those phones that have been tested and verified on these networks, a positive tick mark is attached to the device indicating successful compatibility with Telstra, Vodafone and Optus.
- Periodical Change
Our combined approved list reflects the most agreed upon ideas about current compatibility. Yet, that, or at least this, is most likely to change as we will start receiving additional feedback concerning the above-mentioned criteria from carriers.
